Our State Society for Histotechnology is proud to feature Indiana University School of Medicine's, School of Histotechnology. It is a unique way to develop a career in histotechnology while working in a lab anywhere in the US and Canada.

This school offers an accredited non-traditional histology-training curriculum. The Program runs from August to May and is designed to prepare students for entry-level histology laboratory employment and eligibility for ASCP's HT certification exam.

The course of the study covers all aspects of histotechnique, with theory and technical courses taken in sequence.

Lectures are delivered weekly by phone teleconference to students in qualifying labs anywhere in the US and Canada.

Technical skills are taught in the student's lab by a certified histotech (HT or HTL), following the program's requirements. Labs must meet specific criteria to qualify as a training site.

The curriculum consists of four lecture courses and four practicum courses, with 24 credit hours earned at the completion of the program. Credits may be transferred to a student's local university, or may be applied toward a degree at Indiana University. An associate degree in Histotechnology is also available.
