ELECTION YEAR! Next year is an election year for ISH. The nomination
forms and the candidate forms are available on this website under
forms. Please make your nominations and have the candidate personal
form completed and sent to Diane Sterchi before April 15, 2008.
Duties of Officers from the 1995-96 ISH By-Laws:
PRESIDENT: Act as executive officer
of the Society; preside over all Society meetings; shall call
special meetings of the Society when proper notice is given; shall
be responsible jointly, and severally, with the Treasurer for
all Society funds; preside over and prepare agendas for all meetings
of the members of the Board; be an ex-officio member, without
vote, of all committees except nominations. The President shall
designate all chairpersons and committees arising from the Board.
The President, together with the Secretary, shall sign all legal
instruments, which the Board has authorized to be executed. The
President shall submit to the Board and annual report of the Society
and be the representative of the Society at any Regional and/or
National meetings. The President must attend at least one (1)
meeting of each chapter annually.
VICE PRESIDENT: Shall assist the President and shall preside in absence of the President; shall coordinate the work of all committees and shall perform and discharge all other responsibilities as required by the President of the Board.
SECRETARY: Shall be responsible for minutes of all meetings; maintaining the records of the Society in good order; perform and discharge other duties and responsibilities as required by the President. The Secretary, together with the President, shall sign all official documents.
TREASURER: Shall be responsible, jointly and severally, with the President for all the Society's funds; provided further that the funds of the Society shall be deposited in a local bank in the immediate locality of the Treasurer in the name of the Society. The Treasurer shall be authorized to disburse funds of up to one thousand dollars ($1000.00). All disbursements in excess of one thousand dollars ($1000.00) shall be co-signed by the President, or other designated officers. The Treasurer shall keep an orderly record of such receipts and disbursements and shall present a report of such transactions at each Society meeting; shall perform and discharge such other duties and responsibilities as required by the President.
